Privacy Policy

Clanfolio is a household net worth tracker operated by Chasura Solutions Limited (“we”, “us”). This page explains what information Clanfolio collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with.

Information we collect

  • Account information — your name and email address, handled by our authentication provider, Clerk, when you sign up or sign in.
  • Financial data you enter — account names and balances, transactions, family member names, and any other information you or someone in your household adds to Clanfolio. This is the core data the app exists to store and display back to you.
  • Usage data — basic, aggregated analytics (e.g. page views) via Vercel Analytics, used to understand how the app is used. This does not include your financial data.
  • Sign-in details — Clerk records roughly where each sign-in comes from (the country, worked out from the IP address) and the kind of device, to keep accounts secure. We also count these up to see which countries and devices Clanfolio is used on. We look at them as totals only, not person by person.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide the Clanfolio service: storing and displaying your household's financial data, authenticating you, and maintaining and securing the app.

The AI assistant feature

Clanfolio includes an optional assistant that answers questions about your household's finances. When you use it, a summary of your household's current data — account balances, recent transactions, and net worth totals — is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. This only happens when you actively use the assistant; it is not sent anywhere in the background. Anthropic's own privacy practices apply to that processing.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We use the following service providers to operate Clanfolio, each processing only what's needed for their role:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management.
  • Neon — our Postgres database host, where your household's data is stored.
  • Vercel — application hosting and usage analytics.
  • Anthropic — powers the AI assistant feature, described above.
  • Cloudflare — bot protection during sign-in, via Clerk's Turnstile widget.
  • Apple and Google — take payment when you subscribe through the App Store or Google Play.
  • RevenueCat — keeps the record of your subscription, described below.

Subscriptions and payments

If you subscribe, you pay through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google take the payment, and we never see your card or bank details. RevenueCat, the service that manages subscriptions for us, receives your Clanfolio account ID and a record of your purchases — what you bought, from which store, and when it renews or ends — so we can tell whether your household is subscribed. Visibility within your household

Anyone you invite into a household can currently see everything in it — all accounts, balances, and transactions, regardless of who added them. There is no per-member privacy within a household yet.

Data security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest by our infrastructure providers. Access to your household's data requires authentication via Clerk.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account yourself in the app, under More → Delete my account. That removes your sign-in and your place in your household straight away. If you were the only person in the household, the household and everything in it is deleted too. If other people are still in it, their shared accounts and balances stay with them.

If you can't get into the app, see how to delete your Clanfolio account or email us using the details below, and we'll delete it within 30 days.

Children's privacy

Clanfolio is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Clanfolio changes. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
