Nothing linked to your bank

You type the balances in. Nothing is read from anywhere else.

It can never move money

Clanfolio records numbers. It has no way to make a payment.

Not sold, no ads

Your figures are yours. There are no ads and no data brokers.

iPhone, Android and web

The same household on every device, updated the moment it changes.

The problem

It's all out there. Just not in one place.

A pension from an old job, an ISA in one name, the mortgage in both, a car on finance. Ask most families what they're worth and the honest answer is a shrug.

Over time

Then watch the number move.

Every balance you update adds a point. Over the months, the line tells you what no single statement can: whether your family is actually getting ahead.

An example household. Your own chart starts the day you add your first account.

By person

See who holds what.

Each account belongs to someone, or to the household. See every person's share, what's joint, and how each part has moved — without anyone reading out balances over dinner.

  • Joint accounts counted once
  • Invite family with a link
  • Everyone works from the same figures
Clanfolio's by-person view, with the shared, Joel's and Sam's accounts listed separately

Upkeep

Five minutes a month.

Update balances puts every account on one screen, so a month's admin is a single pass. Anything that hasn't been touched in a while is flagged, so nothing quietly goes stale.

  • One screen for every balance
  • Stale accounts flagged
  • Log transactions when they matter

Assistant

Ask your own numbers.

“What's our biggest liability?” “How much is in pensions?” The built-in assistant answers from your household's real figures and nothing else — so it can't invent a number, and it won't tell you what to do.

  • Answers only from your data
  • No financial advice
  • Plain English, both ways

Getting started

Set up in an evening. Useful for years.

  1. 1

    Add every account

Savings, pensions, the house, the mortgage — each with its balance and whose it is.

  2. 2

    Invite the family

Send a link. Your partner, or your parents, add what they hold to the same household.

  3. 3

    Update once a month

One screen of balances, and the chart shows you exactly where you're heading.

Clanfolio in a web browser, showing each family member's accounts

On your phone, your iPad, or any browser — the same household everywhere.

Privacy

Private by design, and plain about it.

Manual, on purpose

No bank connections, so no institution shares anything with us, and we hold nothing you didn't type.

Encrypted throughout

Your connection is encrypted, and your household's data is stored in an encrypted database.

We never see your password

Sign-in is handled by Clerk, a dedicated identity provider. Clanfolio never stores your password.

Leave with everything

Export to Excel or CSV whenever you like, and delete your account from inside the app.

One thing worth knowing plainly: everyone you invite into a household can see all of it. There's no per-account privacy between family members yet — so invite the people you're happy to share the full picture with.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Something we haven't covered? Help & support has more, and a person at the other end of the email.

What is Clanfolio?

One place for everything your family owns and owes — accounts, property, pensions, investments, loans — added up into one real net worth figure you can track over time.

Is it a budgeting app?

No. It doesn't track the weekly shop or set spending limits. It's about your overall position: what you own, what you owe, and which way it's heading.

Does it connect to my bank?

No. You type in balances and update them when you like, so the only figures in Clanfolio are the ones you put there. It can't make payments or move money.

What can I add?

Current accounts, savings, ISAs, Premium Bonds, investments, pensions, property, mortgages, loans, car finance, credit cards, companies, insurance and cash — in any currency, including property abroad.

How do family members join?

Share an invite link from the app. Whoever opens it signs up (or signs in) and joins your household. The person who set it up is its owner; everyone else is a member.

Can family members see each other's accounts?

Yes — everyone in a household sees the whole shared picture. There's no way yet to keep an account private from the rest of the household, so invite people you're happy to share it all with.

How much does it cost?

Free for 14 days, with no card needed. After that, Clanfolio Family is £4.99 a month or £39.99 a year — one subscription for your whole household, on every device. Exporting and backing up your data is always free.

Can I get my data out, or delete it?

Any time. Export to Excel or CSV, or download a full backup, from More → Backup & export. Deleting your account is in the app too — see how deletion works.

Bring every account together tonight. It's free to try, and there's no card to enter.
